Every custom jewelry project we do is meaningful to us, but this one was especially touching.
A wonderful client and dear friend approached us with a really cool idea. She and her husband went on a beach vacation many years ago and while there, her husband collected several pieces of absolutely stunning sea glass. Not long after returning home from that trip, he passed away. Though she honors him in so many ways every day, she had been thinking of a special way to wear the last thing he gave her, his legacy. She knew she wanted to create a necklace, but had no idea where to start.
Because sea glass is delicate, inflexible, and different shapes, there was more than normal experimentation in order to ensure it was functional AND fabulous.
Two designs were created for our client. Options for connections were also designed and offered. We finally landed on the perfect glass layout and all of the added gold and diamond components that would make this necklace so special. Together, in the end, we created a custom necklace from improbable materials with flexible connections that is an exceptional, one-of-a-kind necklace.
Delivering this necklace to our client is a moment we will always cherish. She was extremely touched and now, whenever she wears this necklace, she will have a beautiful reminder of her husband’s life and legacy.
