 "Jewels of Zambia"

Zambia is a landlocked country of rugged terrain and diverse wildlife with amazing national parks and wild natural areas. On its border with Zimbabwe is famed Victoria Falls, indigenously called Mosi-oa-Tunya, or "Smoke That Thunders." Considered by many as a connoisseurs safari not only only because the guiding is superb but, also because Zambia offers so many different ways to experience the African bush such as canoeing, fishing, night drives and arguably, the best walking safaris on the continent. 

As in all of our sample itineraries, this can be adapted and customized to accommodate the season of travel, number of days, budget, and special interests. 

Day 1: Arrival in Zambia 

You will be met at the airport by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Morning or Evening arrival will determine the exact plan for this day.

Overnight at Lilayi Lodge/ Latitude 15/ Pioneer Lodge/ Wild dog

Day 2: Lower Zambezi National Park

After breakfast, a short flight to Zeki airstrip in Lower Zambezi National Park. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a leisurely game drive to your camp in time for orientation and your choice of afternoon activities. Sundowners on the mighty Zambezi River will definitely top off this fabulous first day in the bush!

Overnight at Chiawa Camp/ Chongwe House/ Amanzi Camp / Kayila Camp/ Potato Bush Camp/ Tusk and Mane Expeditions Camp.

Day 3 and 4: Lower Zambezi National Park

Two full days to enjoy the special activities that Zambian safaris boast and excel at such as canoeing, fishing, motor boating, sunrise and sunset cruising, bush walking and night game drives. At the same time, beautiful scenery abounds with the the Zambezi River as the most prominent feature. Your camp and specialist river guides are especially important in this segment of the safari and have been selected to enhance your experience of this unique park.

Day 5: South Luangwa National Park

Enjoy an activity of your choosing this morning and lunch in camp before departing for South Luangwa National Park. Upon arrival at Mfue airstrip, a game drive to your camp will introduce this remote and varied environment where game is plentiful and leopard is the superstar. 

Overnight at Chendeni/ Chamilandu Bushcamp/ Tusk and Mane Expedition Camp/ Flat Dogs bush Camp/ Masandile River Camp

 

Day 6 and 7: South Luangwa National Park

Two full days to explore the many habitats available. You will also have the opportunity to see the rare Thorncroft giraffe, a species found no where else. Walking safaris spanning a few hours to several days combined with mobile camping were invented in South Luangwa and can be arranged and are a highlight of this park.
